You’re Welcome WA website PDF Print E-mail

The State Government has recently the launched the You’re Welcome WA website which provides information on more than 2,300 accessible venues and facilities for people with disabilities living in Western Australia.

Mr Peter Abetz has praised the new website which has a directory of accessible facilities (parking, toilets, changing rooms), as well as a list of beaches, playgrounds, restaurants, shops and businesses and other facility types that provide suitable access and facilities to assist people with disabilities.

Mr Abetz said “In our community increasing numbers of people with disabilities and seniors are seeking information about business and community facilities they can visit.  My office has disability parking right outside my front door, and our office (including toilets) is disabled friendly.”

“I would like to encourage all local business, local government  and community groups who have facilities with suitable access to join the 2,300 venues and businesses who have already registered on the site.”

“Many people with disabilities and many of our seniors face unnecessary challenges in their day to day life - and this website will provide accurate information of facilities and will enable them to match venues with their specific needs.”

The site has been developed by the Disability Services Commission and includes access information about more than 2,000 business and community facilities gathered by You’re Welcome partners. New information is being added daily.
