New Canning Vale Substation due for Completion PDF Print E-mail

Western Power is working on a new substation in Canning Vale to continue to supply the area with a reliable supply of electricity.

The new substation is being installed at 11 Modal Crescent, Canning Vale. The substation will service areas of Willetton and Canning Vale.  The substation is needed because of the rapid growth the area has experienced in recent years and an associated increase in the use of electrical appliances.

As people continue to use more electrical devices for their personal lives, more electricity will be required to power them.  Devices such as air conditioners, large screen televisions, personal computers and other day to day items which rely on electricity to operate require Western Power to create additional electricity infrastructure to meet the increase in the electricity demand.

The substation is expected to be functional by October 2010, and final landscaping will be completed in December.
